It had to be a match made in heaven when these two met! The fact that they both share the same last name and were in no way related (Meredith’s dad, Russell made sure of it!) had to be a sign. How wonderful is it that she didn’t have to change any of her legal documents!!
This family came to me a little over a year before the wedding to begin the planning process and I knew instantly that I was going to enjoy every part of it with them! I loved the fact that Russell was so involved and had such big dreams for his little girl’s big day.
Meredith’s design aesthetic was softly influenced by Lilly Pulitzer patterns involving Paisley for the reception decor. She chose a beautiful periwinkle chiffon blue for her bridesmaid dresses and decidedly kept her ceremony colors for her decor and flowers traditionally classic.
They chose the Memphis Botanic Garden as the reception venue and Jenny Savage was a delight to work with through the planning process.
We decided to keep the cocktail reception very chic and only used ivory draping, whites and neutrals for the lounge furniture. They wanted a real WOW factor so when guests arrived they walked into a beautiful champagne bar. We created one of our signature champagne displays and it was absolutely a crowd pleaser. The gorgeous lighting was subtle but impressive with the soft champagne tones of paisley gobo patterns that were splashed across the furniture and drapery. I loved how Russell and Dawn (Meredith’s mom) stayed in the entrance and greeted every single guest.
They chose 3 centerpieces of tall clear vases with large spring colored flowers, floral wreaths with a trio of clear cylinders and floating candles and a large clear cylinder with an oversized cluster of flowers and we repeated them on all 25 guest tables that were draped in beautiful blush Dupioni linens from LaTavola. We used a gorgeous soft watercolor paisley print for the bistro tables with a small blue glass cube arrangement of bright spring flowers.
Mark created a beautiful two dimensional lighting design for the reception by casting paisley gobo patterns in a gorgeous periwinkle blue on the ceiling and lit the perimeter of the room in a deep amber. Each centerpiece was pin spotted from above. We hung beautiful chandeliers overhead and dimmed the lights ever so low just to give a warm candlelight effect. We used Meredith and Scott’s custom monogram created by the Stovall Collection on the beautiful and large scale round white dance floor.
The McDaniel’s had several surprises planned for their guests throughout the night. After all of the formalities were behind us the caterers passed out “Ole Miss” blue sunglasses that had their custom hashtag #MCDANIELSQUARED printed on them to signal the party was about to commence! As the band was playing a special request from the bride’s mom, “You Dropped The Bomb On Me” we started the custom confetti blower machines that Mark created and installed overhead. They rained confetti for the entire duration of the song! After guests noshed on delicious bites from Wade and Company Catering and enjoyed the custom “Grove” Station that we designed on the Patio, they were again surprised by a late night pass of Krystal Burgers and homemade potato chips. Laura Jackson with the Flour Garden always impresses and this time was no exception. She created a white tone on tone paisley texture on Meredith’s cake and delivered big time on Scott’s Chocolate Ole Miss Groom’s cake.
At the end of the evening Meredith and Scott’s guests sent them off with a confetti popper toss as they drove off in a vintage baby blue Cadillac! Congratulations #MCDANIELSQUARED
